Awareness Programme on Adolescent Pregnancy – 02-04-2026

 





The Department of History, Providence College for Women, Coonoor, MoU with the Family Planning Association of India, organized an Awareness Programme on Adolescent Pregnancy on 2nd April 2026. The programme aimed to educate students about the causes, consequences, and prevention of adolescent pregnancy, while also emphasizing the importance of family planning and reproductive health. The session began with a welcome address, highlighting the significance of addressing adolescent health issues in today’s society. Resource persons from the Family Planning Association of India delivered informative talks on topics such as physical and emotional changes during adolescence, risks associated with early pregnancy, and the importance of informed decision-making. The programme emphasized the need for proper guidance, access to healthcare services, and the role of society in supporting adolescents. Students actively participated and gained valuable insights into reproductive health and responsible behavior.

Veterinary survey

                   A house-to-house survey was conducted on 04/02/2026 by Dr. Shani Rashin R., Dr. R. Revathi, Dr. Danish Fathima R., Dr. S. Baby, Ms. Swathi, and students to collect data on the various types of cattle owned by the villagers. This survey helped assess livestock distribution, identify common health issues, and understand the need for veterinary support in the area.
